2005/2006 WIN A BMW X5 COMPETITION WINNERS!
Winners of the 2005/2006 ‘Win a BMW X5’ competition – Mr & Mrs Moyce from Wales.
The free members draw for the BMW X5 was made on the 10th of January 2007. The winners were Ray & Pamela Moyce from Cardiganshire, Wales. Designer Way Vacation Club members for 5 years, they joined at Whitebay International on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The competition drew a huge response from all members, with some members submitting over 30 entries. The Moyces, who submitted just three entries, elected to take the prize of £35,000 cash.
Timelinx customer relations director Craig Douglas journeyed deep into the Welsh valleys to visit the Moyces and present them with their cheque. Ray, a retired publican, and Pamela, who works in the village shop, were disbelieving at first, but soon revealed their spending plans.
Interview
You’ve just won £35,000. What are you going to spend it on?
Ray: I’m going to get a new car. Obviously not an X5 though, I’d like some change from the £35,000! I’d like to take a few trips to watch Portsmouth play football, too, maybe by helicopter!
Pamela: I’ve never won anything before, so I’ll be making the most of this. The day before you called we were looking at kitchens, so a brand new kitchen is first on my list; after a big party, of course!
Will you be using the money to take a dream holiday?
Ray: Several I think! We’re going to visit Spain very soon and then plan a trip to St Helena where I was born.
Pamela: I’ve always wanted to visit St Helena where Ray spent some of his childhood, but it’s such a long way to travel that it’s seemed impossible until now.
Other than the small matter of winning £35,000, what else is it you like about DWVC?
Ray: They have access to places normally inaccessible to the general public. They also offer some superb deals.
Pamela: It’s very easy to use and I can get the kitchen I’ve always wanted!
Do you read The Traveller magazine?
Ray: Absolutely! I find it very informative, and the articles are always enjoyable to read. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Traveller magazine we’d never have heard about and then entered the competition!
